The 7 Best RTX 3070 Laptops for 2022

We've looked at seven of the best RTX 3070 laptops for 2021 in our article to help you select the appropriate one for your gaming needs.
The 7 Best RTX 3070 Laptops

We just reviewed the best RTX 3080 laptops, and today we’ll look at the best RTX 3070 laptops. And, while the RTX 3080 laptops will provide somewhat better in-game performance, in terms of price-to-performance, the RTX 3070 will still be able to deliver excellent performance at a reduced cost.

These RTX 3070 laptops are a good choice if you don’t have enough money to buy a higher-end RTX 3080 laptop (prices start at roughly $2,500). We’ve also listed seven alternatives RTX 3070 laptop options, starting at $1,800, and graded them based on price and hardware.

Best Overall: Razer Blade Pro 17.3″

  • The sleek, all-metal construction is high-quality and portable
  • Thanks to the Max-Q GeForce RTX 2080 Super GPU, you’ll get top-of-the-line performance
  • With GPU power to support it, a 300Hz display is possible
  • At this price, 512GB of storage is insufficient for a 17-inch laptop.

The majority of the RTX 3070 laptops on this list are nearly identical. Different screen sizes, different screen resolutions (the Gigabyte Aero 15 has a 4K resolution display), the amount of storage they have, their refresh rate, their processor, and their pricing are all variances. While there are a lot of different areas for variances, the differences are tiny (especially in core hardware, such as processors, where even if there is a difference, there won’t be a substantial change in performance).

However, every choice on this list includes an Intel Core i7 or Ryzen 9 processor, 16GB-32GB of RAM, and an RTX 3070 GPU. So, based on those specifications alone, most of these laptops will perform similarly.

However, we believe that the Razer Blade Pro 17 offers the best price-to-performance of the other options on this list at $2,600. It comes with a larger 17.3-inch screen with a refresh rate of 360Hz. An Intel Core i7-10875H processor, 16GB of RAM, and a 512GB NVME SSD are also included.

Both the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G15 and the ASUS TUF Dash 15 are less expensive. And each has its own set of advantages. Both, on the other hand, have smaller screens and a slower refresh rate. However, if you don’t mind a smaller screen, either of those options could be a viable alternative.

The MSI GE65 Raider‘s only drawback is that, due to its larger screen, it is more expensive than the other selections on this list. If you don’t mind sacrificing screen size and refresh rate for a Ryzen processor, a better resolution screen, or more storage and RAM, you might want to look at the other alternatives below.

  • 1920 x 1080 Screen
  • Intel i7-10875H CPU
  • 360Hz/IPS
  • 16GB DDR4 RAM
  • Our Rating: 9.2/10

2. ASUS ROG Zephyrus 15.6″

  • Excellent 1080p gaming performance, with an ultra-high-refresh panel.
  • Impressive battery life
  • Colorful keyboard
  • No SD or microSD card slot

If you want to save a little money or have a Ryzen processor in your laptop, the ROG Zephyrus G15 15.6-inch RTX 3070 laptop from ASUS is a good option.

An AMD Ryzen 9-5900HS processor, 16GB of RAM, and a 15.6-inch 1440P 165Hz display are included in this ASUS model. It also includes a 1TB SSD.

The ASUS ROG Zephyrus G15’s key selling points are its 1440P 165Hz display and Ryzen 9 processor. The higher-resolution display will provide greater images without detracting too much from performance (as would opting for a 4K resolution RTX 3070 laptop). Furthermore, the refresh rate is still sufficient to provide an exceedingly smooth in-game experience.

If you don’t require the faster processor or the higher-resolution screen, but still want the most economical RTX 3070 laptop on the market, the ASUS TUF Dash 15 described below is a good option.

  • 2560 x 1440 Screen
  • Ryzen 5900HS CPU
  • 165Hz/IPS
  • 16GB DDR4 RAM
  • Our Rating: 9.2/10

3. ASUS TUF Dash 15.6″

  • For a gaming machine, the battery life is competitive
  • Smooth 240Hz screen
  • Comfortable keyboard
  • It fell short of two other RTX 3070-based laptops we’ve tested in terms of graphics

The ASUS TUF Dash 15 is a high-performance laptop that costs slightly over $1,800. Obviously, you get an RTX 3070 GPU, which should be capable of maxing out whatever game you throw at it on the laptop’s 1080P display.

However, an Intel Core i7-11370H CPU, 24GB of memory, and a 15.6-inch 1080P 240Hz display are included. Even though it isn’t the most powerful processor in Intel’s new i7 series, the Intel Core i7-11370H will be more than capable of handling any in-game scenario.

The bottom line is that, while the ASUS TUF Dash 15 doesn’t have the strongest specs of any of the laptops on this list, it does come at a substantially lesser price than its rivals. Because the ASUS TUF Dash 15’s fundamental components (the CPU, GPU, and RAM) are nearly identical to those found in the other laptops on this list, it won’t fall too far behind in terms of in-game performance.

The ASUS TUF Dash 15 is definitely your best pick if you want to save some money without compromising too much performance.

  • 1920 x 1080 Screen
  • Intel i7-11370H CPU
  • 240HZ/IPS
  • 24GB DDR4 RAM
  • Our Rating: 9.0/10

4. Gigabyte Aero 15.6″

  • Extreme strength, especially as compared to its size and weight.
  • Excellent keyboard
  • Excellent 4K OLED display
  • Fans spin almost constantly and Some hinge wobble

On paper, the Gigabyte Aero 15 is a good choice for anyone looking for a 4K laptop that can also give a good gaming experience. It’s a tough sell, though, given the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G15, despite not having a 4K display, does offer a 1440P panel, a higher refresh rate, and a better CPU.

However, if you’re looking for a 4K gaming laptop, the Gigabyte Aero 15 is a good choice. Its Intel Core i7-11800H processor, 16GB of RAM, and RTX 3070 GPU are capable of running most games at 60 frames per second on high settings.

However, if you have a larger budget, you should consider our top 4K pick from our Best RTX 3080 Laptops guide, as the improved performance of the upgraded GPU and the higher refresh rate it offers will give you a better overall experience.

  • 3840 x 2160 Screen
  • Intel i7-11800H CPU
  • 60Hz/IPS
  • 16GB DDR4 RAM
  • Our Rating: 9.1/10

5. Alienware m15 R4 15.6″

  • New GeForce RTX 3070 GPU is capable of 60fps ray tracing
  • 1TB of SSD storage
  • Customizable keyboard (per-key) and chassis lighting
  • Achieving 60fps at 4K with ray tracing enabled is still a bridge too far for this GPU

Alienware’s m15 R4 is another RTX 3070 laptop option worth mentioning. The m15 R4 has a good setup in terms of hardware.

It has a 300Hz display in addition to an Intel Core i7-10870H processor, RTX 3070 GPU, 16GB of RAM, 1TB SSD, and 1080P screen. In terms of refresh rate, it is only second to the Razer Blade Pro 17 on this list.

The Alienware m15 R4, on the other hand, has a price tag of slightly under $2,400. Because of this, it is more expensive than a number of other equally strong solutions on this list. While those laptops may not have the same hardware combination as the ones above, the cheaper price tag makes them more appealing.

Nonetheless, the Alienware laptop is worth considering because to its 300Hz refresh rate and significantly lower price than the Razer Blade Pro 17.

6. CUK GS66 Stealth 15.6″

  • 10th-Gen “Comet Lake-H” CPU and RTX 2080 Super (Max-Q) GPU lead to very high frame rates
  • Plenty of ports, including Ethernet and Thunderbolt 3
  • Blistering 300Hz display
  • 512GB of storage is small for gaming, especially at this price

CUK’s GS66 Stealth 15.6-inch laptop is another Honorable Mention option worth mentioning. It’s not their hardware configuration, as it is with most of our Honorable Mention picks, that keeps them from making our Top Picks area, but rather the price.

There are other better RTX 3070 laptops for $2,500 than the CUK GS66 Stealth. For an extra $150, the Razer Blade Pro 17 has a larger screen and a faster refresh rate. Furthermore, the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G15 and ASUS TUF Dash 15 are less expensive and have a superior price-to-performance ratio than the CUK GS66 Stealth.

However, because prices fluctuate so much, we felt it was necessary to include a few Honorable Mention options, such as the CUK GS66 Stealth. And, if the CUK GS66 Stealth is much less expensive by the time you read this post, it will be a more appealing alternative that you should seriously consider.

  • 1920 x 1080 Screen
  • Intel i7-10870H CPU
  • 300Hz/IPS
  • 32GB DDR4 RAM
  • Our Rating: 9.0/10

7. CUK GP66 Leopard 15.6″

  • Value for Money
  • Per-key RGB keyboard
  • 130W RTX GPU options
  • Lacks an SD card reader and Thunderbolt support

The CUK GP66 Leopard is another sub-$2,000 RTX 3070 laptop worth considering if the price lowers below the ASUS TUF Dash 15. In almost every category, the CUK GP66 Leopard lags below the Dash 15 in terms of specifications. However, it comes at a cost hike of over $150.

And, while the hardware differences aren’t huge, paying more for slightly less performance isn’t worth it. However, if the price of the CUK GP66 Leopard dropped below that of the ASUS TUF Dash 15, it might be worth considering. It will, however, remain an Honorable Mention until then.

  • 1920 x 1080 Screen
  • Intel i7-10750H CPU
  • 144Hz/IPS
  • 16GB DDR4 RAM
  • Our Rating: 8.9/10
